Terms of Publication

Thank you for your interest in submitting your work to the Twoside Stories. Your stories matter and, by sharing them, you will support our community of writters, illustrators, storytellers and followers.

To ensure a smooth submission process and maximise the chances of publication, please review the following terms before submitting your work.

Topics of Interest

We accept any short story, including fiction, non-fiction, outdoor and nature narrative, drama, voyages, terror, comedy,… whatever you can think on.

Types of Works Accepted

We welcome submissions, either written or drawn, subject to the following terms:

Written stories

Written sides of a story must be uploaded from the submissions page following the nex terms:

  • Maximum extension: 1000 words
  • Font: Typewritten in Open Sans, 12 points
  • Space: Single-spaced
  • Margins: 1 inch margins
  • Language: English language
  • Images: the document cannot contain any image or visual element apart from text.
  • Formats: .doc .pdf

Please make sure your manuscript is proofread before the submission, since it will not be corrected afterwards.

Drawn stories

Drawn sides of a story must be uploaded from the submissions page following the nex terms:

  • Maximum extension: 1 office page (DIN A4).
  • Layout and composition: The artwork must be placed in a page in vertical format. It can be composed by a single image or different comic panel at your desire. See examples below: (single page) (3 strips with 3 panels) (1 strip with 3 panels).
  • Style: the artwork can be submitted in any style or media preferred by the author, including black and white/ color, mixed media, digital drawn or hand-drawn.
  • Background: the artwork must be submitted over white background.
  • Text: the artwork can only contain onomatopoeias. Titles, dialogues or other text content should not be added.
  • Formats: .jpeg .pdf

Submission Process

All works should be sent using this submission form.

Peer Review Process

All submitted work will be subject to peer review to ensure it does not include any offensive, discriminatory, pornographic, abusive or unnappropriate content. Likewise, the stories must fit into the topic of nautre and outdors in line with the Twoside Stories´ vision. Non-compliance of any othe terms will result in the non-publication of the story. In this case, authors will be notified by email throught the email address provided during submission.

Copyright and Licensing

The Twoside Stories and its creators will not be held responsibe for any copyright infringement derived from any submission. Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted material contained within their submissions.

After submiting their work, authors will remain owners of its intelectual property whilst agreeing to the following terms:

  • Their work may be published in the Twoside Stories website under a Creative Commons CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, previous revision and acceptance.
  • Their work may be reproduced, printed and distributed, either individually or together with other stories, in any format and in connection with the Twoside Stories’ activities under a non-exclusive exploitation license.
  • In the case that any commercial activity is foreseen, authors will be contacted previous its publication and distribution in order to agree the terms of a potential commercial relationship. In the case that no commercial agreement is achieved, authors will be able to whitdraw their work from the publication.
